WATER CARE/CHEMICAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR BULLFROG SPA OWNERS:

BASIC CHEMICAL CHEAT SHEET:

Getting Started:

• Remove one filter from your spa’s filter bay, and place your water hose down the tube where your filter previously sat when filling your spa. This will purge air from the manifold system and prevent an air lock in your plumbing. If filling from well-water, utilize LeisureTime Metal-Gon or a similar product to remove excess metals and minerals. Once water begins flowing from the bottom jets, replace your filter to its previous location and continue filling directly into the spa. Allow water to come up to temperature (100-104 degrees F), then use a test strip to test your base water. From there, utilize PH Up or PH Down to bring the PH level into the “OK” color range demonstrated on the test strip bottle. 

Chemical Usage:

• 1 Tablespoon of spa shock compound (OxyBrite or Spa Shock Xtra, the key ingredient being potassium Peroxymonosulfate) every week

• 1 teaspoon per person, per useof your spa of granulated chlorine/bromine (never exceed 3 tablespoons).

Draining your spa:

Drain your water one month after installation/initial fill to remove factory laminates. After that, we recommend draining every six months (twice a year) for optimal enjoyment and water quality.

Filter Cleaning:

We recommend cleaning your filters monthly with high-pressure water (no dish soap.) A horsehair brush can be used to remove large debris. We also recommend soaking your filters for 24 hours in GLB Filter Fresh once a year, or using LeisureTime Instant Cartridge Clean.

SALT SOLUTION CHEAT SHEET

SILK BALANCE CHEAT SHEET

Getting Started:

If using a brand-new spa– Set pH and alkalinity of your water (check using test strips), this can take 2 to 3 days. Then, add 2 oz SilkBalance for your initial use.

If just starting Silk Balance in your previously used spa– first utilize CleanStart to fully clean out your spa’s lines and plumbing. This will completely clean your spa and restore the plumbing to factory conditions (instructions for CleanStart are located on the back of the bottle.) After using CleanStart, refill your spa and set the pH and alkalinity, then add 3 oz SilkBalance for your initial use.

Chemical Usage:

• Add one Teaspoon of potassium Peroxymonosulfate (OxyBrite) every use of your spa.

• Add one tablespoon of chlorine every week. 

• Add 2 ozs of SilkBalance every week.
